I'm representing a book publisher and we would like to include Lingo with our own content in our books. Is this possible?

Yes, Lingo can be customized both in visuality and content for your needs. Please contact us for details sales (a) globalicssoftware.com.

Lingo can be included on a CD or on your web site for downloading. License pricing depend on the number of books you are publishing and possible work to create your own language files (which can be done by yourselves or bought from Globalics Software).

What are the hardware requirements for Lingo?

Lingo is a highly optimized application, so it will run on virtually any harware that your Windows operating system runs on. We recommend a minimum setup of Intel Pentium (or equal AMD) processor, 16 Mb RAM and 10 Mb free disk space.

What platforms does Lingo run on?

The operating system options for lingo are Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista (any edition). Windows 95 is not supported.

I'm a Mac user, how can I use Lingo?

Lingo works well with Windows on a Mac OS by using Virtual PC. Please make sure the system requirements for Virtual PC are appropriate for your system.

On Intel based Macs you can also run Windows by various means: Apple's Bootcamp for booting into Windows, VMWare and Parallells as other virtualization software.

What are the books and chapters in Lingo?

Lingo uses these concepts, because they make it easy to organize your words. A book can be a real-life book or hand-out, from which you enter words into Lingo, or it could be just an group name for a set of chapters you want to divide your words into.

Chapters are either the real chapters in a book (this makes it easy to select one or multiple chapters to learn) or a subgrouping of words below the book-level. For example if you are making your own vocabularies for the language English regarding traveling, you could create a book named "Travel" and chapters named "Shopping", "Dining" and "General Terms". In shopping, you would put words needed for shopping situations and so on.

May I import vocabularies from another application, spreadsheet or text files?

You may convert ASCII-files (comma separated text files) into Lingo's XML-format with some basic XML-knowledge.

May I share my vocabulary and language files with others?

Yes, indeed you can! We are glad to publish vocabulary files on this website. Please send your file as a ZIPped archive to support (at) globalicssoftware.com .
